The shock hasn’t worn off yet! I meant to get this out yesterday - just Easter greetings to each of you, wonderful subscribers! But, the death of the pope caught me by surprise. After a day of prayer and reflection— I realized that “My Secret is Mine” is oriented to the personal experience of our Risen Savior who changes EVERYTHING.
So - let us pray:
Please Lord Jesus - help us to believe in the fullness of your Resurrection, even when we have NO idea what that means for us, and how to live in the reality of Easter. Bring us into the fullness of your Paschal mystery!
Please Lord Jesus, grant us the humility of Mary Magdalene, who loved you so much that she was not afraid of serving Jesus! Help us to serve You in our homes, offices, churches and communities, and not count the cost.
1Please, Lord Jesus, receive our prayers for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis. Strengthen your Church especially now, and grant us the grace to remain in silent and reverent prayer for one another, with perfect charity and love.
As Catholics, we have a special, God-given responsibility to pray for one another as we mourn the death of our pope, and as our church leaders take on the task of selecting the next pope.
Start with a rosary for our Holy Father Pope Francis:
The USCCB has a novena in memory of Pope Francis.
Our Holy Father died on Monday…exactly nine days before the feast of St. Catherine of Siena on April 29. Pray More Novenas has an appropriate novena to the amazing Saint Catherine.
The canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis was scheduled for Divine Mercy Sunday. It has now been postponed. A novena to this young exemplar of the faith seems appropriate - pray that we may all use electronic devices for the greater glory of God alone!
